Keep it simple

A mock-up of a Commer 'Walk-Thru' van in Apple Corps livery, inspired by The Beatles Get Back documentary

We were rewatching the brilliant Peter Jackson-directed Get Back documentary on The Beatles last night and saw something that made us twist and shout!

Blink and you'll miss it, but in the background of a scene in episode 1, a perfectly branded Apple Corps van backs onto the soundstage to deliver some equipment. Completely white except for the instantly recognisable Granny Smith logo on the side panel, plus one on each of the back doors. That's it. No wordmark. No strapline. No Fab Four or anyone else from the roster for that matter. Less is more.

A little detective work revealed the vehicle to be a Commer ‘Walk-Thru’, and the hunt was on to find some pictures. We found precisely none. So we did some research, found some reference and created one. That’s the kind of thing we do at Valhalla Towers! An image to please ourselves, but we thought we'd share it for three reasons.

  1. We love branding and never stop noticing it!

  2. It's a good example of what Valhalla does - Inspiration, research, creation.

  3. You might be as excited as we do about these sorts of things!
